As an active bandleader, performer, and composer, Jason has a unique and informed approach to teaching guitar lessons, with an emphasis on jazz and improvisation. They have been teaching students since they were 15 years old, and deeply enjoys connecting with students of all levels. In 2017, Jason severely injured their shoulder and took over a year to recover before returning to his guitar with a completely changed method, physically, psychologically, and spiritually. They now focus on sharing a sustainable, authentic, and heartfelt approach to practice and performance. In addition to teaching guitar lessons, Jason co-taught a high school course on music history and appreciation, and they have experience tutoring students in a variety of subjects. Jason is currently offering in person and online Zoom lessons and welcomes students of all ages and levels.
In addition, Jason recently began offering a course in Music and Mindfulness at Bodhicharya Buddhist Center in Berlin where they aim to guide students to develop a deeper relationship to music using Buddhist mindfulness and deep listening practices:
